We’re off to Norfolk!
We’ll be based in the city of Norwich, and will head out for rides around the Broads, and also head to the coast. Bring your swim kit.
We are arranging for bags…and bikes to be transported from Balham to our base in Norwich Friday, then returned on Sunday. All you need to do is make your way to Norwich for Friday afternoon.
Friday 5 June - Bike and Bag Drop 7.30 - 9.00am BHP.
Norwich Nelson Premier Inn, which will be our base for the weekend. Check-in opens at 3pm (5 mins walk from Norwich Railway Station)
Your bike and bag will be waiting for you there.
Friday - Getting there
Trains from London Liverpool Street to Norwich run approx. every 30min and take 1h 50min, more information below*
Please make your own travel plans or car pool (parking at Premier Inn is £10 per day)
The evening ride will depart from the hotel 3.30/4ish. A 60km ride to spin the legs. The route takes us east from Norwich and in a loop around the Broads and crossing the River Bure. We will call in to Horning for refreshments, km 40 before returning to Norwich. An option here for a little shortcut using the foot and bike ferry across the river directly opposite our pitstop on the river. Dinner will be freeform.

Saturday -A choice of Century rides, imperial and metric, heading north through the Norfolk landscape towards the North Sea coast, calling in at Cromer, ( pack your swim kit ) before returning to Norwich where we will have a celebratory dinner together.
We are pulling together a cafe guide for both routes so you can plan your other stops before and after lunch to best suit your PG.

Sunday - Takes us to the King’s Head at Coltishall for brunch before returning to Norwich to drop off your bikes and check-out of the Hotel. Please note checkout is 12noon.

The cost of the trip is based on two sharing and will depend on final numbers but please budget on £300/£350.

June all you need to do is get yourself to Norwich - trains from Liverpool Street, or car-pool from Balham.

* Catching the train….
Please arrange your own travel between London and Norwich.
Train tickets are now available to book and pleased to say there's no engineering works.
London Liverpool Street to Norwich is 1h45m - 1h50m. There's trains on the Friday every half hour at .00 and .30.
Our Premier Inn is literally a 4 min walk from the station. We can check in from 3pm (poss a bit earlier). The 13:00 from London arrives 14:47 and there's many earlier options.
Return trains on the Sunday are hourly at .00, and also at .22 from 15.22 onwards. With the hotel check out at midday it will be possible to catch the midday train back to London.
Advance tickets are currently available (26th April) for under £40 return. A flexible weekend return ticket (which CAN be used on a Friday) is £58 return, and railcard discounts are available on this ticket - but Network Card CANNOT be used for London - Norwich.
There's also a GroupSave option for 3-9 people.
